Linden Real Estate

Linden is a community of about 3,800 residents within the Front Royal area. The community is located about 60 miles outside of Washington, DC, and off Virginia's Interstate 66. As the gateway to the Shenandoah Valley, the general area is populated but spread out, with real estate ranging from modest modern developments to luxury farm-style homes built since the 1960s, or new homes currently under construction.

In January 2006, the median sales price for a home in Linden was $252,020. Most available properties range from $170,000 to $330,000, although there are also plenty of units that sell in the $90,000 to $170,000 range. The upper scale, larger homes are considerably more expensive, in the upper $800-$900s.

There are some exquisite farmhouse style homes built in recent years and currently under construction. These homes tend have at least four bedrooms. Victorian style homes nestled among lush forest lands are available, as well as English contemporary homes with gardens and spacious yards. There are a handful of mountain top homes with views of the Appalachian Mountains.

Linden, which is part of Warren County, offers its residents five elementary, two middle, and one high schools. The local teacher to student ratio is favorable, and class sizes are relatively small compared to the rest of the state. The vast majority of students from Linden graduate from high school and some go on to pursue a college education.

Linden's proximity to the Shenandoah Valley is a major plus for local residents, who can take advantage of hiking, trekking, walking and other nature activities all year long. Residents also enjoy clean mountain air and no air pollution. Linden is quieter than the larger Front Royal settlement. Incidents of crime in the area are relatively low compared to the rest of Virginia. Its communities are mixed between owners and renters, and among age groups.
