Lincolnia Real Estate

Lincolnia is a peaceful suburban community within Fairfax County, one of the country's most affluent counties. It is home to a highly-skilled workforce that migrates to nearby Washington, DC and other Northern Virginia areas during the day. Only about 7 percent of workers live and work within their community.

The neighborhood is highly residential, and mostly home to families. About 16,000 residents live mostly in row house and attached home units of no more than two bedrooms. Larger dwellings are also available, as are units in complexes and high rise apartments.

The average home sold for $429,500 in January 2006, but there is plenty of variety in the real estate market. Most homes range between $190,000 and $490,000, but many also go for as high as $650,000. A smaller number of more established properties sell for a pricier range of $825,000 to $1.3 million.

Lincolnia has one of the lowers crime rates in the region. Residents send their children to K-12 schools that are continuously ranked as some of the best in the country, and boast excellent graduation rates. Of these graduates, 96% seek continuing education. Opportunities for higher education are easily accessible at nearby well-known institutions such as University of Maryland, George Mason, Georgetown, George Washington, and American universities. Smaller local colleges are also present.

Residents can also tap into the business and leisure resources available to all Northern Virginia residents. The area is rich in history, with plenty of historic homes, barns, mills, museums, and Civil War battlegrounds. Year around outdoor festivals and fairs, ranging from arts and crafts to Christmas parades and community Fourth of July celebrations bring together kids and adults.

Parks – with hiking, walking, and biking trails – are near by. Residents have access to golfing, boating, fishing, bird watching, and other outdoor activities.
Cosmopolitan Washington is just a short drive away, with its museums, monuments, historic sites, premium restaurants, and rich cultural and nightlife.
