Find out how much Knoxville Real Estate is worth

Knoxville, Maryland, is a community of about 4,500 residents that lays along the Potomac River across from Virginia and the vast Gathland State Park to the east.
A green, nature-loving community, Knoxville offers lovely views of the Catoctin Mountains and surrounding horse pasture lands. Perhaps this is one reason why so many of the homes in the area are built with porches where residents can sit and enjoy the view.

Located just one hour away from both Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland, Knoxville is a true rural community, untouched by the residential construction boom that most of the Washington metropolitan region has experienced in recent years. Therefore, while many farming communities around it have turned into modern housing developments, Knoxville has retained its small town feeling.

The average property here sells for just under $200,000, which typically guys a colonial style single-family home of three or four bedrooms on a wooded lot, featuring a garden or yard. Most homes sell in the price range of $90,000 and $330,000, with some larger, statelier homes and farms being bought for as much as $650,000.

What new construction has been added to Knoxville in recent years has come in the shape of row houses and small apartment buildings, which offer one and two bedrooms units. Plenty of old and historic homes are also for sale in Knoxville.

Communities predominantly made up of families with children, Knoxville residents insist on a good education for their children. There are quality private schools in the area, but public schools are served by Frederick County's public school district, which boasts good performance on national standardized tests and high graduation rates. Most students go on to pursue a college degree.

The average Knoxville residents has a bachelor's degree, is about 38 years old, and reports a household income of about $62,000, which is nearby a third higher than the national average.
