Located about half-way between the nation's capital city and that of Virginia, Falmouth, Virginia, is a culturally diverse community that enjoys a peaceful, rural atmosphere. The community of about 28,000 residents is quiet, and has virtually no crime. It is located close to the Quantico Marine base, and numerous shopping and dining venues. The education needs of Falmouth's younger residents are met by the public schools of Stafford County, which offer diverse programs in the areas of art, health and physical education, and music. Graduation rates here are high, and most students go on to pursue a college degree.
Numerous historic landmarks are located near Falmouth, and enjoyed by residents in their time off work. The Ferry Farm, George Washington's boyhood home, offers 550 acres of parkland to explore. Nearby are also about 9,000 acres of land where major Civil War battles took place.
